ICROA Endorsed BioCarbon Carbon Crediting Programme since 2021

BioCarbon Standard has been an ICROA Endorsed Carbon Crediting Programme since 2021, reflecting a sustained recognition of the program under ICROA’s framework for carbon crediting programme integrity.

ICROA Endorsement follows an independent third-party assessment against the ICROA Endorsement Criteria. The assessment examines the integrity and robustness of carbon crediting programmes across key areas including independence, governance, registry systems, validation and verification, carbon crediting principles, environmental and social impacts, stakeholder considerations, and scale.

What ICROA Endorsement means ?

ICROA Endorsement identifies carbon crediting programmes that have successfully met the requirements established under the ICROA Endorsement Procedure and are eligible for inclusion in the ICROA Code of Best Practice.

BioCarbon Standard has maintained its ICROA Endorsed status since 2021, providing continued independent recognition of the program’s governance, rules, assurance systems, and market infrastructure.

Under the ICROA Code of Best Practice, ICROA Approved Organisations may transact and retire carbon credits issued by endorsed programmes, including Verified Carbon Credits issued under BioCarbon Standard.
