BioCarbon Cert was founded in 2018, initially as ProClima, with the purpose of contributing to the development of credible mechanisms for recognizing verifiable environmental results.
We have since evolved into a programmatic platform for carbon, biodiversity, and water, responding to a market that demands greater transparency, technical rigor, traceability, and governance.
Today, we administer the standards, methodologies, tools, and procedures that define the requirements for recognizing verified results.
BioCarbon Cert does not develop projects, trade credits, or operate the registry. Our role is to set the rules, administer the programs, and make decisions based on evidence, independent evaluation, and defined technical criteria.
BioCarbon Cert drives trustworthy environmental markets connected to territories, through programs, regulatory frameworks, and tools that enable the recognition of verifiable results in carbon, biodiversity, and water.
Through independent governance, conformity assessment, traceability, and ecosystemic articulation, we strengthen confidence in environmental markets and channel financing toward climate and environmental action capable of generating sustainable transformation across ecosystems, territories, and productive sectors.
BioCarbon Cert is a global reference in the evolution of interoperable environmental markets, aligned with the needs of the planet, territories, and productive sectors.
We ensure that environmental results generated in natural ecosystems, territories, and productive systems are recognized under clear rules and sound science, with governance that answers solely to technical criteria, generating verifiable impact for the climate, nature, and people's quality of life.
Our Annual Reports outline BioCarbon’s milestones, project and initiative certification progress, financial integrity, and sustainability achievements.
They reflect our commitment to transparency, good governance, and climate leadership.
