Alexis has a Bachelor's degree in Education, with emphasis in natural sciences. He has specialized in the area of biology and has a PhD in Ethnobiology. Alexis has been a researcher and professor for more than 40 years.<\/p>

Alexis is passionate about the development of local communities through the use of their valuable biocultural heritage. He has an extensive background in international cooperation and is dedicated to promoting practices that preserve and strengthen the balance between biodiversity and the communities that depend on it. His dream is to become an expert in ecological restoration, actively contributing to the regeneration of natural environments.<\/p>

Alexis is a member of BioCarbon's Board of Directors, where he believes he can use his experience and knowledge to contribute to the growth and implementation of the Biodiversity Standard.<\/p>

F Javier Manzanares is currently a World Bank's Senior Consultant on Carbon Markets, Co-CEO of Climate Digital Investments and CEO of ALLEN MANZA INC as well as, Board Member of SURECO & Partners and consultant for UNEP-FI, Delphos International and FIIAPP among others.<\/p>

He started as CFO and became Deputy Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund \"GCF\" for almost 8 years. Previously, he held the positions of Director and Regional Representative of UNOPS for MERCOSUR, based in Argentina and Manager of the Investment and Development Banking Division at \"CABEI\/CABEI\" based in Honduras. Javier also worked as Executive Vice President of two private banks of Grupo Fierro in Miami and Guatemala. His career in banking and finance began with Banking and finance with Banco Santander\/BSCH in the United States, Hong Kong and Japan.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Javier was the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of \u201cIASE\u201d, the International Association for Sustainable Economy, holds a double MBA from Northwestern University\/Kellogg (USA), an EMBA from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology \"HKUST\" (China), a PhD in Sustainability Management from INHA University in South Korea and he is ESG Certified from Competent Boards<\/p>

Mar\u00eda is an economist with a specialization in Commercial Law from Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from Columbia University (New York). She has more than eight years of experience in sustainable development, corporate strategy, and value chain transformation, leading nature-based innovations and regenerative practices with impact across different sectors.<\/p>

Before founding Myzelio, she worked as Sustainability Manager at AB InBev for Middle Americas, where she promoted the transformation of the value chain toward sustainability, with an emphasis on water management, regenerative agriculture, and community resilience. She led large-scale water security projects in Mexico, Peru, Colombia, and El Salvador, and later supported the growth of sustainable startups as Strategic Project Manager of the 100+ Accelerator. In 2024, she co-founded Myzelio, a firm that designs, implements, and scales innovative and regenerative strategies. Myzelio stands out for acting as the sustainability team of companies, ensuring not only the achievement of objectives but also the generation of measurable and transformative impact through practical and adaptive solutions.<\/p>

As a member of the BioCarbon Board of Directors, Mar\u00eda contributes expertise in sustainability, innovation, and regeneration, supporting projects that restore ecosystems and create shared value for communities and the private sector.<\/p>

Her purpose is to address the planetary and spiritual crisis by driving the regeneration of ecosystems and communities through sustainable and scalable solutions. Miguel, with experience since 1981 in the forestry sector, began as Chief of Biological Research at Monterrey Forestal Ltda. His background in sciences allowed him to lead the Forest Management Department in the Pizano group, overseeing Forest Management Certification and Chain of Custody, and developing environmental management processes. He collaborated on national and international studies, applying Clean Development Mechanism standards. He concluded his career as General Manager of Monterrey Forest GWR SAS of Greenwood Resources (USA).<\/p>

Invited for his expertise, he participated in organizations such as Acofore, CONIF, Fedemaderas, and Camcore at North Carolina State University. Additionally, he served as an advisor for Agricultural Sciences at Colciencias, a lecturer at Javeriana University, and a member of the Species Survival Commission of IUCN.<\/p>

Cristina worked seven years as a criminal lawyer specialising in financial crime, in corporate compliance and in forensics investigations at some of the most prestigious Spanish and multinational law firms, such as De Pedraza Abogados and Baker & McKenzie. She has been recognised as a leading lawyer by various publications such as Global Legal Group Ltd, Law Business Research Ltd and Financier Worldwide.<\/p>

After working four years as the leading AML\/CFT and Anti-Corruption Consultant at BDO IT Consulting, Cristina works currently as a Consultant assisting clients in designing and implementing their AML\/CFT, Data Privacy, Anti-Corruption and Whistleblowing Frameworks, in different sectors, namely banking, insurance, financial, food and hospitality. She is also responsible for the performance of AML\/CFT Audits, development of Risk Assessment Tools, drafting of Data Protection contracts, ESG reporting and the delivery of corporate trainings related to AML\/CFT and Compliance and Corporate Governance matters. She is a MQA approved trainer and appointed Member of the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Mauritius as a member with experience in legal matters.<\/p>

Kabaka, based in Kampala, Uganda, is a Land Surveyor with a Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying and Geomatics from Makerere University, Uganda. He is also a Regional Development Planner. His motivation for intercontinental studies was to explore multicultural environments, experience new foods and interact with different nationalities from around the world. His professional experience includes working with communities, infrastructure development and land administration in Uganda and across the East African region.<\/p>

Over time, Kabaka has developed expertise and knowledge of Africa's climate change mitigation strategies and the carbon market agenda. He has driven this agenda by engaging various partners, both public and private, to participate in the carbon market. His ambition is for BioCarbon to support GHG initiatives in accessing carbon credits and assist governments in meeting their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) through the use of the carbon market.<\/p>

Paloma is an Economist with over 15 years of experience in the carbon markets, renewable energy, and other clean technologies. She spent the first half of her career sourcing and implementing projects for regulated and voluntary carbon markets in Latin America, focusing on waste treatment, renewable energies, efficient cookstoves, and AFOLU. Later, Paloma transitioned to the renewable energy and electric mobility sectors in Peru, where she developed solar and wind power projects, initiated pilot projects in sustainable transportations, and promoted both technologies and the regulatory frameworks required for their successful implementation. Recently, she has worked as an independent consultant in Peru identifying suitable carbon pricing instruments for implementation.<\/p>

He has published 50 scientific articles, 1 book,7 book chapters, and 8 outreach articles, and has been a member of Mexico's National System of Researchers since 2019. His work focuses on biodiversity conservation in Mexico, particularly in the states of Guanajuato and Michoac\u00e1n.<\/p>

In the community sphere, he has trained and supported community monitoring groups in various parts of Mexico. He is the founder and president of the nonprofit organization Conservaci\u00f3n del Patrimonio Natural para el Bienestar Social.<\/p>
