Each consultation period remains open for a minimum of 30 calendar days from the date of publication. This volume forms the basis for the issuance of <strong>Verified Water Credits (CAV).<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The methodology is designed for use by:<\/p><ul><li>project developers<\/li><li>governments and representations of deforestation. The methodology explicitly integrates drivers, agents, and enabling conditions, as well as conditional and trigger-based dynamics, ensuring that baseline scenarios are evidence-based, constrained, and auditable.<\/p><p>The framework strengthens environmental integrity through:<\/p><ul><li>structured treatment of <strong>scenario selection uncertainty<\/strong> in forward-looking baselines;<\/li><li>explicit requirements for <strong>reference region representativeness and statistical robustness<\/strong>;<\/li><li>enhanced <strong>MRV provisions<\/strong>, including minimum accuracy thresholds for remote sensing-based monitoring; and<\/li><li>conservative treatment of leakage, uncertainty, and net emission reductions to prevent over-crediting.<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>This methodology is designed to address structural limitations observed in conventional approaches that rely predominantly on historical trends, particularly in HFLD contexts where past stability does not reflect future risk.<\/p><p>BCR0014 is not a variation of existing methodologies. for quantifying water credits from increased infiltration<\/p><p>The BioCarbon Water Standard invites stakeholders to review and comment on the draft version of the methodology BWS0001. Quantification of Water Credits from Increased Infiltration in Watersheds, a key technical document designed to strengthen the integrity and transparency of water-based nature-based solutions (NbS) certification.<\/p><p>This methodology sets out the procedures and technical criteria to quantify net water gains (m\u00b3\/year) resulting from soil restoration, sustainable land management, and water conservation activities. Its application enables the issuance of Verified Water Credits (VWC) under the BioCarbon Program, promoting investments in water security, climate resilience, and landscape sustainability.<\/p><p>We welcome feedback from professionals, institutions, communities, public and private entities, and all interested stakeholders.
